What is subject and predicate :
As we know a sentence is a group of meaningful words which pass a complete idea. This sentence contains two parts. One is a subject and another is a predicate.
Let’s understand what is Subject :
The subject is what the sentence is talking about. It means the person, place, things, or any idea that we are talking about in that sentence is called Subject. In short with the part of the sentence we know what or whom the sentence is about

Let’s understand what is Predicate :
The predicate is what tells something about the subject. It means the remaining part of the sentence is says something more about the subject, which is called Predicate. In other words, the part of the sentence that tells us what the subject is doing in the sentence.
Examples: Let’s see some examples, so we can understand the concept much better.
1) Minal is a classical dancer.
Subject: Minal,
Predicate: is a classical dancer
2) Vishal is a hard worker boy.
Subject: Vishal,
Predicate: is a hard worker boy.
3) Grass is always green in the garden.
Subject: Grass

Note: So these are very simple sentences where we can easily identify the subject and predicate. Here I tell you one more trick to identify the subject of a sentence, separate the verb from the sentence, and then ask a question to the verb by “who?” or “what?”. The answer will be the subject.
Like above 1st sentence – “dance” is a verb,
So the question will be “Who is a classical dancer?”
The answer is what: Minal.
It means Minal is the subject and the remaining part of the sentence is the predicate. – as simple as it.
Like above 3rd sentence: verb and helping verb is “is always green”
So the question will be “What is always green?”
The answer is what: Grass.
It means Grass is the subject and the remaining part of the sentence is the predicate.

A| Imperative sentences :
In a sentence stating a command or a request or order, it means imperative sentences, where is “you” is in hidden form, we are not writing this in the sentence. It understands that “you” is there. So these types of sentences, the subject is always “you“.
Example:
1) Do your homework on time.
Subject: “You”.
Predicate: Do your homework on time.
2) Do your homework on time.
Subject: “You”.
Predicate: Do your homework on time.
B| Sentences start with the word “There” :
The sentences start with the word “there”, the subject is not at the beginning of these sentences. This “there” word indicates that the subject is followed by this word. Also, you can confirm this as stated above by asking a question who? or what? to the separated subject.
Example :
⭃ There are five mango trees are standing in the garden.
Ask the question “what standing in the garden”.
The answer is the “five mango trees”.
Subject: “five mango trees”.
Predicate: “stand in the garden”
What is simple subject and simple predicate :
Let’s see some Simple Subject and Simple predicates:
When separate the words like noun, pronoun, adjective, the verb from the sentence, is known as the simple subject.
Example: Even a piece of bread can fulfill your hunger.
Subject: “Piece” – which is a Simple subject. (The complete subject is “A piece of bread”) But we separate the other words.
Predicate: “can fulfill” which is a Simple Predicate, (The complete predicate is “can fulfill your hunger”).
Compound subject sentence:
Some sentences having two or more subjects are called compound subjects.
Examples: My mother and father were played together.
Compound Subject: “My mother and father”
Predicate: were played together.
Some sentences having two or more verbs are called compound predicates.
Examples: Vishal writes slowly but still completes his homework.
